Board exams
Phase 1 (Feb–Mar 2027) is compulsory. Phase 2 (May 2027) is optional for improving up to three main subjects: Science, Maths, Social Science and languages.
Marks per subject
80 marks for the theory paper, 20 for internal assessment. You need 33% in each subject and overall to pass.
Competency-based
Half the questions test application: case studies, source-based and real-life problems. 20% are MCQs, 30% short and long answers.
Set your target
Saved on this device only. Aim high, then plan the marks: 90% means about 70 out of 80 in every theory paper plus full internal marks.
Rules to know
- Missing 3 or more subjects in Phase 1 means you cannot take Phase 2.
- Eligibility needs 75% attendance and completed internal assessment.
- Every paper: 3 hours, plus 15 minutes reading time.
- Sportspersons: if a national event clashes with a paper, speak to the school exam in-charge early about CBSE's provisions.

The plan to February
Finish the syllabus
- Keep pace with school; finish every NCERT exercise and in-text question the same week it is taught.
- Make one-page notes per chapter: key terms, formulas, diagrams, dates.
- Do 1 hour of revision of earlier chapters every day.
- Boxing travel (National School Games): carry the formula sheet and flashcards, use travel time for revision.
Revision round 1
- Subject-wise revision of all chapters; NCERT Exemplar for Maths and Science.
- Complete practical files, projects and internal assessment work (20 marks per subject).
- School pre-board 1: analyse every mistake in an error notebook.
Papers, papers, papers
- Solve the official CBSE sample papers with their marking schemes.
- Previous years' board papers: one full 3-hour paper every Sunday morning, timed.
- Practise competency and case-based questions (half the paper).
Sharpen
- Pre-board 2; fix weak topics from the error notebook.
- Daily: formulas, diagrams, map work, important dates.
- Last 7 days: only revision, no new topics; sleep 8+ hours.
A day for a student athlete
| 06:00 | Wake up, water, light stretching |
| 06:15–07:00 | Study block 1: Maths problems (fresh mind) |
| School hours | Attend fully; note doubts to ask teachers |
| After school | Lunch and 30-minute rest |
| 15:00–16:15 | Study block 2: Science or Social Science |
| 16:30–18:30 | Training (boxing / football) |
| 19:00 | Dinner |
| 19:45–21:00 | Study block 3: English/Hindi + revise today's school work |
| 21:00–21:20 | 10-minute recap, plan tomorrow |
| 21:30 | Phone away · sleep by 22:00 |
Adjust to your school timings. Sunday: one full timed paper in the morning, rest in the afternoon. Use the Focus timer for study blocks (25 minutes study, 5 minutes break).
Training + studies
- Hard training helps memory and sleep. Keep it, but reduce volume in the last 2 weeks before papers.
- Study the hardest subject when fresh, not after training.
- On tournament days, do 20-minute revision bursts instead of skipping study.
Formula sheet
Algebra & AP
Coordinate geometry
Trigonometry
Mensuration
Statistics & probability
Physics
Sign convention: distances measured against the direction of incident light are negative. Learn each formula, then practise 3 questions right after revising it.
Daily 10
Ten quick questions from the Class 10 syllabus, with explanations. A new mix every time.
Sessions today: 0
How to use it
- Pick one task: "AP exercise 5.3", not "study Maths".
- Phone in another room. Start the timer.
- Work until it rings, then take the break. Stand up, drink water.
- After 4 sessions, take a 20-minute break.
A short chime plays when each session ends. Session count is saved on this device.
In the exam hall
- Use the 15-minute reading time to plan: mark easy questions and the order you will answer them.
- Time budget: about 2 minutes per mark, leaving 15–20 minutes to check.
- Answer to the marks: a 3-mark answer needs three clear points.
- Underline key words; draw neat, labelled diagrams with a pencil.
- Maths: show every step; marks are given for steps, not just the answer.
- Never leave a question blank.
Subject strategy
- Maths: NCERT examples and exercises first, then Exemplar and past papers.
- Science: learn diagrams, equations and definitions word-perfect; practise numericals in Electricity and Light.
- Social Science: make timelines for History and practise map work weekly.
- English: practise letter and analytical paragraph formats; read each chapter's theme and characters.
- Hindi B: grammar (पदबंध, वाक्य रूपांतरण, समास, मुहावरे) is 16 sure-shot marks; practise daily. Writing is 22 marks: learn the formats of letter, notice, advertisement and e-mail. Not in the 2026-27 exam: बिहारी के दोहे, मधुर-मधुर मेरे दीपक जल, गिरगिट.
Mind & body
- Sleep 8–9 hours; memory is built during sleep.
- Eat well; drink water; keep training as a stress release.
- Compare yourself only with yesterday's you.
Need to talk?
Feeling stressed is normal. Talk to your parents, a teacher or your coach.
